Hi friends! I’m happy to announce that we have a lovely new giveaway for you today from the talented Peruvian artisans of Mujus.
Have you heard of this beautiful line yet?
I was introduced to Mujus a few months ago and completely fell in love with the line — partly because I loved the style of their colorful, organic and beautiful jewelry. (Also notably made from high-quality, organic and sustainable raw materials.) But what made the jewelry even more beautiful to me was learning about the story behind it all.
In short, Mujus is a collaborative partnership between a designer in NYC and talented artisans in Peru. Together, they focus on creating beautiful designs that are organic and made with sustainable raw materials. And then in return, they give back to their respective communities. In Peru, they focus on paying fair wages, providing health insurance to artisans, and facilitating social change for impoverished communities around Lima. In the United States, Mujus collaborates with the ALS organization. And through it all, they help women everywhere feel a little more beautiful in the process.
So we are excited to be partnering with Mujus today to host a giveaway for a lucky winner to win a necklace and earrings set. Click below to read more and enter for a chance to win!
On a recent trip to Ikea I decided on a whim to buy a few 8×10 frames. I have heard so many great things about Ikea’s frames and decided at 5 dollars a piece I could spare the 20 dollars and give them a try. I actually didn’t have a plan for them when I bought them, but I knew that with a simple white frame anything was possible! I have always been a fan of text art, and am currently loving a simple black and white look in our home. This project was so easy — and for two new pieces of art it cost me less than $15.00. You can’t beat that!
Ok, I have to admit that I have been bah-humbuging a bit about Valentine’s Day this year. Some years I love it, some years I’d rather skip it all together. This year was turning into the latter…until I found these.
Valentine’s day is just around the corner! This year I thought I’d go ahead and make my own valentines. I had a large amount of blank white cards that I had bought before Christmas with the good intentions of making homemade Christmas cards. December got ahead of me and the cards never were made, so I decided to use them for Valentine’s day. These cards are simple, cost effective and use hardly any materials so they are great for just about anyone to make! Happy Valentine’s day friends!
Hey everyone! Ali here, from Gimme Some Oven, and today I’m stoked to finally (3 months late!) be sharing all about my new Instagram wall.
As some of you might know, I moved into a new loft in December and remodeled a new white kitchen, which I adore. But the entryway right next to the kitchen was a bit of an eyesore. You’ll have to check out the photos below to see, but basically, the guys before me who designed the loft thought it would be a great idea to make two gaps in the entryway wall (right as you walk in) so that you can see into the bedroom. So basically, there’s just a big panel of wall with two vertical gaps on each side. Awkward. But still, a decent space to display something.
Hey guys! Hope your week has been great! I know at least in Kansas City the seasonal depression has hit hard. It’s very cold here and has lately made me want to just curl up under a blanket and never leave the house! As far as I am concerned winter could end the day after Christmas. But since it continues to press on, I have chosen to look on the bright side of winter and focus on something fun! Valentine’s Day! Here are a few items I’m crushing on lately. Have a great weekend!
Warning, this post is not going to be my most glamorous post! This week began the task of organizing my laundry closet. Because Tanner and I live in a loft we don’t have a lot of storage space. We need to use what we have wisely! In our living room there is a large closet that hosts our washer/dryer and about every household object that we can cram in there! It was getting a little out of hand. Luckily I was fortunate enough to try out some Rubbermaid All Access organizers and I am feeling better about my closet situation already!
It seems like everyone is on a quest to becoming more organized this year. I have had requests for a planner round-up, which in turn made me realize that I should probably be getting myself a planner! As I mentioned in this post, I am not a naturally organized person, so if I can become inspired by an adorable planner to get myself together I’m all for it! Happy Friday!
As the new year begins it’s time to finally tackle some of my less than par organizational skills. For the most part I would call myself a “clean” person. Our house is normally only about a 10 minute speed clean away from being “guest ready” and I tend to run the dishwasher an adequate amount of times during the week. I have to admit though, I am not exactly what you would call organized.
I don’t make lists.
I have a calendar hanging on the wall…it is currently turned to November 2013.
I lose my phone more times in a day than I can count.
I can’t remember important dates (or the actual day’s date for that matter!)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was filled with family, food, gifts, laughter and some much needed rest! Tanner and I both had the day off yesterday as well so we spent the day playing catch up from all of our Christmas festivities and of course had some much needed down time! It was truly a merry Christmas!
I don’t know about you, but with all the Christmas parties and gatherings I had almost forgotten about New Years! I’m not sure what our evening will consist of, but here are a few of my favorite DIY projects for the special night! Happy weekend!
